Scottish Club Indoor Qualifiers 2023/24: Results

Over the past two weekends, players have flocked to Dundee, and then Motherwell, to compete in the Club Indoor Qualifiers, and battle it out for a spot at Nationals. Here’s the results from Club Women, Open and Mixed Indoor Qualifiers!

Women:

Glasgow Women

8 Edinburgh Ladies Frisbee

Glasgow Women took the crown, with their most contested game against St. Andrews in the semi-final on universe. St. Andrews are looking very strong ahead of University Indoor Nationals, with a mostly tall squad made up of experienced players and talented youngsters. The Edinburgh (University) Women’s squads faced off, with Edinburgh 2’s managing to sneak a win against their 1’s. FarFlung (Glasgow University) were missing some of their stronger players, however still managed to come away with some wins.

Open:

Newcastle Brown 1

Newcastle Brown 1 managed to push Rampant off the top of the podium, taking the win in the final with a 2-point difference. Rotterdam Money, made up of mostly Dundee University Alumni, placed third, just missing out on that treasured Nationals spot. St. Andrews 1 appeared strong, however didn’t manage to get past Rotterdam Money, leaving them in 4th.

Mixed:

RamPals was a blended team made up of Rampant men and Glasgow/SMOG women, plus a Chevron representative for good measure. Despite a few injuries, they came out on top, beating Woo Tang Clan in the semi and St. Almost in the final. Strong performances from especially FarFlung 1 (Glasgow University), placing 3rd, and Edinburgh University placing 7th, who are both looking good ahead of University Mixed Indoor Nationals. 3Snakes had a surprising 5th place finish, after losing to St. Almost in the quarters, but hopefully they’ll be able to make an appearance at Nationals if they want to.
